SYSTEM wont boot/post bios when I install another ram of same speed.

I have 2x crucial ballistix ram 1gb ddr2
asus p5n-mx mobo
evga geforce 9600gt pci-e card
core 2 quad q6600 processor
maxtor sata 250gb 7200rpm hdd
cooler master psu 460w
sony Combo drive

they had been working fine for like 8 months.
however, this morning, when I turned my pc on , it wont boot.. it gave me some bios checksum error message
I put my ASUS p5n-mx cdrom , and it ran some awdflash utility , I hit enter, it started flashing....
twice it said " write faliure" on a block.
but it finished and pc rebooted, but again same error.
I again ran the utility with same process, it gave more write faliure.

I then reset the cmos memory by taking out the battery ( cable unplugged ) and moving the jumper from pin 1 2 to 2 3 for 10 seconds, then back again to their position , put battery in again.

but I noticed that , it wasnt working when I had 2 ram chips installed.. so i took one out.. and it worked...
it booted to windows and everything.

I am wrote this post with same pc.

but when i put my other ram back on the slot, it just doesnt show any thing, no beeps, no screen, no bios post, no booting, nothing !

and when i use just 1 ram ( the other one ) it works.

ill explain in detail :

ram1 , ram2 = 2x 1gb ddr2

ram1 : doesnt work single, doesnt work in pair with ram2

ram2: works single, doesnt work in pair with ram1

and they worked in pairs till last night.

I dunno what happened this morning, but everything messed up.

Please help !!!
