took out/reinserted RAM = non responsive monitor
Hi!
I was rather unsure where to post this but since the incident happend while I was checking my RAM, I figured this was the best place. ![]() Earlier I took out one of my two RAM modules to see if they were 5400 or 6400. To my disapointment they were 6400 (since I'd gotten my hands on some 5400 for about 10 bucks). So I poped the 6400 module back in, but when I powered on my comp my monitor just kept scaning for signals (both analog/digital), until it just "gave up" and started blinkin' as if there was no signal. I've consulted some friends and they all said "did you make sure that the RAM is housed correctly?" and yes I am. The RAM I'm using is Corsair cm2x1024-6400c4dhx (the monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 2032BW), if its of any importance. Any help would be appreciated! ![]() Thanks in Advance! Pyra~ |

Re: took out/reinserted RAM = non responsive monitor
Usually this is caused by not fully seating the ram don't relay on the plastic hooks that the ram is fully into the socket.
Good to hear you have it figured out. |
