New Kingston RAM system not showing all 2Gb
Ok here's the boring story, I bought 2 RAM cards of 1 Gigabyte each for my PC. I was happy when I got them. I was eager to kick off my g/f from the computer. She got off, I removed the old chips and installed the new ones.
Now, 3 weeks later, it came to my attention that my computer only shows 1920 Megabytes. I reseated the RAM and updated the System Rating. Still the same thing. I bought Kingston 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model KVR667D2N5K2/2G via NewEgg.com. I've had the same problem before but now I can't play Battlefield: 2142 because I'm 128MB short :( Right now I have: Windows Vista Home Premium, AMD Athlon x64 +4000 2.60GHz, 2GB RAM installed (Reading 1920MB), NVIDIA GeForce 6100 integrated graphics (Up to 128MB shared video memory) says the emachines website, 250GB HDD & 80GB backup HDD The system is all factory except the RAM, which was upgraded to 2GB, and second HDD, which is 80GB. Any ideas why? Or may it be that the graphics card is taking out the 128MB from my physical RAM? Thanks!

Re: New Kingston RAM system not showing all 2Gb
Your on the money. Shared ram is ram you can't use. I would have thought if you want to do games you'd have installed a Video card!
