How to Change Memory Timings
I have a dell dimensions 3000 with 1gb(2x512mb) of ram that i want to upgrade to 2gb(2x1gb). It has PC3200 400mhz Ram with a cas latency of 3. I am wanting to take the 1gb(2x512mb) out and put the 2gb(2x1gb) in it. I then want to take the 1gb(2x512mb) and put it into a new computer im going to buy. The problem is that the computer im going to buy only supports ram with a cas latency of 2.5! If possible how can I change it.
The computer im taking the 1GB(512x2) out is a dell dimensions 3000. Manual at..... http://support.dell.com/support/edoc...M/j6758A04.pdf The computer im putting it into is a HP Compaq dc5000 SFF. Manual at..... http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/.../c00067194.pdf Please Help and Thank You! Last edited by rwttaber; 04-10-2009 at 06:23 PM. |

Re: How to Change Memory Timings
you don't have to change the cas latency for this memory, it will/ should work just fine in this hp computer.
