problems installing gt6600 gt video card

im trying to install 6600gt pci-e video card i turn my computer off and install the card swap the monitor cable over and boot back up but all i get is a black screen the fan is running on the card ive tryed everything please someone save me computer spec
amd athlon 64 proccesor 3000+ md 3d now
2.0ghz
1.0gb
directx10 version 4.10.0000.5515
power supply 350w 12v+/18a +5v/30a 3.3v/28a

Hi...my first guess would be inadequate psu. What graphics card did you have installed previously?

ive just found out that the card is broken so bought a x800gt radeon the card works proper but i cant get the drivers to install properly the one of the ati site catalys9.3 doesnt work it makes my system freeze at statup and i have a black boarder rond my screen any ideas

use driver cleaner to clean up the old video drivers

then

in the device manager uninstall the video card
reboot tapping f8 and choose vga mode
when windows finishes rebooting
disable a/virus
install your drivers
reboot the computer

i downloaded driver cleaner but cant open the file would reinstalling xp do the job and do i have to disable on board graphix in device manager

Mistake Re: problems installing gt6600 gt video card

i have got driver cleaner to work i cleaned the drivers installed video card drivers and installed the card i boot up the pc and my screen reserlotion has to be changed when i click on the icon my monitor turns itself off and the no signal message shows it wont turn back on i have to reboot computer to get screen on again could this be power problems i have 350w psu. before the monitor turns off i checked device manager and the radeon drivers that i installed are working properly any ideas
