help please
ok i have a dell dimension 4600 xp sp3 and micron pc2700 333mhz 1g 2x512 and my moms pc is a dell optiplex gx270 128mb pc2700 333mhz . i went to ebay and bought 2gb 4 x hp 512 ddr 333 was going to run dual channel in my dell and give her my 1g microns. upon inspection the hp sticks look about 1/8 inch shorter in height but the hp sticks all fit in the slots of both pcs but niether will boot i tried each stick individually in both pcs with all the hp sticks then i swapped the microns and they both boot but with hp sticks neither will boot even to the dell splash screen i get the system beeps in both long slow 3-4 beeps. is the memory bad or is it because there hp brand or what please help.. thanks all

They're probably the wrong micro code on the stick, or wrong density, best bet for a Dell is Micron or Crucial spec'd for the Dell > http://www.crucial.com/store/listpar...mension%204600
