PSU Replacement/Upgrade
I recently acquired a Sony Vaio VGC R38C desktop computer. It originally had windows xp mce OS. It has a giga pocket tv/pvr oem card installed, and a Pentium 4 3.0 ghz cpu. It didn't have a hard drive when I got it. I installed a 250 gig sata drive in it, and xp pro. It was determined that the original PSU was defective, which was the cause of it not booting up right away when switched on. The original PSU was a HiPro 305 watt. Since I am not upgrading anything significant on the pc, do I really need to get a PSU that's any more powerful than the original? My intention is to sell it, but I don't want to see it cause more problems for someone else. I appreciate your honest opinions.

Re: PSU Replacement/Upgrade
Ok....here's the PSU I ordered from Newegg. After reading through the sticky on power supplies, I used that knowledge to make my choice.
Here's the link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817182160 Feedback appreciated. |
