Re: coolmax v-500 problem?

your power supply may not have enough pop to pull in your video card.
please list your computer specs and post the voltage/temps in your bios.

Re: coolmax v-500 problem?

Your cpu is burning up with heat and that is what most likely is shutting it down. You need to change the thermal paste in the CPU/Heatsink:

Applying Artic Silver Thermal Paste

Re: coolmax v-500 problem?

That would be my approach with this problem. I would certainly try the thermal paste and see if that helps your issue. You can get a tube of Artic Silver for about six or so bucks and that is enough paste to last you for a good long time and many builds. Just be careful to follow directions carefully.

Re: coolmax v-500 problem?

you need a mirror finish after you clean the surfaces. no scratches should be visable.
when appying artic5, you only put "a grain of rice" of artic on the surface. dont smear it around, the artic will spread on its own.

the application needs many on/off cycles to achieve the full cooling benefit.

good luck, and take your time.

Re: coolmax v-500 problem?

Thanks to all who helped

I need to get some thermo paste... the connections was not right... so I put some pressure on the processor.. or what ever you call it... and the cpu temperature went down....

the computer wored fine after that.... so now I am going to buy the paste...

thank you again to everyone here...
