Nec nd-6650a dvd+-rw

I am having problems with my ND-6650A CD-R/RW DVD-R/RW drive...

It is detected by the computer, current firmware is 103D...

The problem is that it will not run/detect CDs...

I have a Dell XPS M140 Laptop...

Any help is appreciated!

Hi,

Try to delete the Upper/Lower Filters:

Follow the Directions EXACTLY

Hi,

I did delete the registry values as specified and restarted... It still does not seem to work...

Then chances are you will have to replace the CD-rom.
They do wear out.

Is it a certain CD/DVD you are playing?

Have you tried various CD's
Does it do this with DVD's (Various)?

I have tried other CDs but not DVDs yet... When I put in other CDs, the same thing happens.

Understand... is there a specific place to get a CD/DVD combo drive? I've never had to replace it before... about how much would it be?
