Re: Can not boot. Post ONLY New build

By shows post does it complete post and tell you no operating system found or all you get is the splash screen?

Have you cleared the CMOS using the jumped on the motherboard?

What do mean you could not get power?
To clear the CMOS you unplug the power cord, press the power button to remove any residual power, move the jumper to short the pins, move the jumper back, replug and boot you do not try to boot with the pins shorted that and damage a board.

Have you set it up outside the case? Follow the steps here exactly> How to Bench Test Your System

Re: Can not boot. Post ONLY New build

Test results.

Only splash screen.
clear cmos same results
screen reads

amibios c 2006

cpu: intel r core tm 2 cpu e8400 @3.0GHz
Press f11 bbs popup
the MCH is operating with ddr2 800/cl5/tras18/trp5/trcd5
dual channel mode
63-0100-009999-00101111-062907-bearlake-g31t-m-y2kc

If i remove one stick the change is single mode and displays memory size

Re: Can not boot. Post ONLY New build

While I agree that you are under powered I think the motherboard is DOA.

Re: Can not boot. Post ONLY New build

so you suggest to get that one to work with what i already got for cpu and ram?
plus it states Windows 32-bit operation system may only recognize less than 3GB. Hence, a total installed memory of less than 3GB is recommended.

Re: Can not boot. Post ONLY New build

I missed something that is the same P43 chipset board that you were looking at in the Biostar and the Asrock the same ram and CPU limitations would apply.
32 bit OS's can only address a maximum of 4gig including video cards and system devices windows will report between 2.8G and 3.5G as available usually 3.2Gig. Asus puts the disclaimer in to prevent rma's and support issues for not reading all the ram.

Re: Can not boot. Post ONLY New build

I read your question wrong twice but wrong both times, for a cheap board it will work with what you have, and at least it's been tested or sometimes they are unopened returns.
As much as I do like newegg there open box items I don't like.

Re: Can not boot. Post ONLY New build

The G31 is ok but I would rather have the P43/P45 chipset or if you can find 1 a P35.
