Any Ideas?????
So i just recently built my first PC and i am having a problem playing my games. It installed ok and it starts up fine but after differing amounts of time, usually within the first minute of game play, the game freezes up completely and my PC restarts. Anyone know whats going on and how i can fix this???
-Thanks- |

Re: Any Ideas?????
first please check what is your amps under the 12 V in your PSU, you should open you case to see it. the Quad core needs a very good and powerful PSU even the PCIe needs a minimum of 24 A and more under the 12V
second the 8400 GS is a very low end card and it won't play games that good, it barely do. if you have 2 sticks of RAM try to remove one and keep the other.

Re: Any Ideas?????
In your system i can see a weak point which could be your PSU, your trying to run a Quad core, 4GB of RAM and a 8 Series card on 450W is probably over stressing the PSU causing your PC to reboot due to loss of power.
Like RockmasteR check your 12v line amp on your PSU.

Re: Any Ideas?????
and also the RAM won't do any problem in internet or other things only in games the problem could show up.
so just remove one stick to see if the problem is solved, I'm not asking you to remove the stick for good, just to see if the problem is from them

Re: Any Ideas?????
i tried it removing one 2GB stick of RAM and it still crashed on me. How big should my power supply be using a Quad core processor, 4GB of RAM and an 8 Series graphics card?

Re: Any Ideas?????
ok so i just bought and installed the corsair 750W psu and it still does the same thing except now when it shuts down i'm also getting a blue skreen that states it is dumping physical data. i don't know what to do, it can't be over heating so quickly i've left it on for a couple days to see if that would overheat it and nothing. its only when i play my games!! thats the whole reason i built this box and it can't do it :( Any other ideas???

Re: Any Ideas?????
all i get when it freezes is a blue screen that says:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. The system encountered an uncorrectable hardware error. Technical Information ***STOP:0x00000124(0x00000000,0x86F65020,0x2000040,0x00000800) Does that help any? it doesn't list my cpu temp when it shuts down, just the information above and says that its dumping physical memory. |

Re: Any Ideas?????
the error is caused by just about anything from what i have found searching
there should have been more to the error you received on screen than the line you have posted pointing to what caused it check for a bios update http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936357/en-us other causes i found listed were video driver sound driver also disabling C1E in the bios was reported as fixing the problem

i had never heard of C1E before i found it listed as a fix when searching
the 124 error points to a hardware error run memtest on the ram 1 stick at a time d/load and run the h/drive makers diognostic utility on the h/drive if it comes up clear un checkdisk /f post the mini dump files and i will ask someone to check them C:\Windows\Minidump\Minidump.dmp
