PSU UPGRADE FOR XFX GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB DDR3 PCI-Express

Hi, am wondering which psu I can upgrade to run a 8800gts. Has been recomended to get 5-600 watts but when i look at some psu's to buy the cables inside my pc seem to diffrent to all the other ones for sale!
Am having trouble!
Here are some specs if any body can help.
Motherboard
CPU Upgraded to E4500@2.2ghz
Motherboard Name Acer MCP73
Motherboard Chipset nVIDIA nForce 7100-620i
System Memory 1280 MB (DDR2 SDRAM)
DIMM1: Nanya NT512T64U88B0BY-3C 512 MB DDR2-667 DDR2 SDRAM (5-5-5-15 @ 333 MHz) (4-4-4-12 @ 266 MHz) (3-3-3-9 @ 200 MHz)
DIMM2: Aeneon AET760UD00-25DB97X 1 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM (6-5-5-18 @ 400 MHz) (5-5-5-18 @ 400 MHz) (4-4-4-12 @ 266 MHz)
BIOS Type AMI (01/29/08)
bios: 686AMBIOS®[©1999]VVO3 8228
motherboard: N1996 FC MICROSTAR
power supply: Liteon PE-5251-7
+5v=/16a MAX -12v=/0.5a MAX
output should not be more than 250watt at 25°
Code:
http://www.techsupportforum.com/hardware-support/motherboards-bios-cpu/312361-solved-processor-upgade-help-2.html
Also some pictures from my previous posts.
It has serial ata connecters going to my hard drive and also it has a 15 pin foxconn power lead going to the hard drive. The main power connecter to the motherboard has a 24 pin connecter with one pin not in use somwhere in the middle of the connecter.
All the other psu's i have been looking at seem to only have 4-pin Peripheral Power Connector
+20 & 24-pin Main Connector
4-pin+12V Power Connector
4-pin Floppy Drive Connector
But no 15pin connecter for my hard drive power supply or also the dvd drive also has this connecter.
It has all left me slightly confused!
Code:
http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?DriveID=83
This is the hard drive. can i use the other connecter on the hard drive to plug into the psu?
wd800jd hdd.
I need this graphics card! I have the processer power now i need the graphics!!
Also does this graphis card run on 65nm technology?
hope so or its pointless asking this question!

For that particular video card, these are the best power supplies out there and both are a steal right now:

650 watt Corsair TX – $74.99 after Mail In Rebate

750 watt CorsairTX – $89.99 after Mail In Rebate

I dont think these will fit in my case. I need to find one 150mm by 85 mm to fit where the old one is.

What case do you have? Is it a standard ATX or a special case?

What is the model number of your computer so we can look up the case size.

Re: PSU UPGRADE FOR XFX GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB DDR3 PCI-Express

Your link does not work so I don't know what power supply you are considering or if it will handle your video card.

Unfortunately, cheap power supplies are usually just that and make good paperweights. However, they don't run video cards very well.

I will wait until you update your link to see what you are looking at.

Will this work then mate?
Iv had to code the links because the links you also posted do not work.
DC Output is as follows

650W Max output

+5V = 36A, +3.3V = 34A, +12V = 22A,

-5V =0.3A, -12V = 0.6A, +5VSB = 3.0A

not sure if this is enough power...

Re: PSU UPGRADE FOR XFX GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB DDR3 PCI-Express

The bare minimum for any pci-e video card (even the weak ones and yours is certainly not a weak one) is 26 amps on the +12 rail (this one has 22 amps) and for this card you should be looking at many more amps than even the 26 amps if you want it to perform properly, so there is no way this power supply will run your rig.

Re: PSU UPGRADE FOR XFX GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB DDR3 PCI-Express

Ok dude. Thanks for the help. I get what im looking for now. Found this crazy psu with 60a on the 12v rail!!!

Code:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/750W-HERCULES-GAMERS-PSU-POWER-PACK_W0QQitemZ280310567025QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Computing_PowerSupplies_EH?hash=item280310567025&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1690%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1308
750W HERCULES GAMERS PSU\POWER PACK and still considrely cheaper than the corsair.
It probally wont last a 100,000 hours but in 11years time i bet you can pick a corsair up for 50p!
Thanks for all the help tumbleweed...
