Have 256 Ram, should i get 512 ram more or install another 256?

I have a foxconn 915P7MH-S, i already have 256 ram installed. Should i add a 512 ram to it or add another 256 ram for dual channel? I'm not really sure what dual channel is.

Motherboard- http://www.foxconnchannel.com/product/Motherboards/detail_overview.aspx?ID=en-us0000148

Thanks in advance.

Re: Have 256 Ram, should i get 512 ram more or install another 256?

Dual channel with 512mb is completely useless to you, as having 512 is not much better than having 256 these days... I'd say you should

A: get the cheapest highest capacity stick you can (at least 512)

OR

B: I personally would ditch the 256 entirely (give it to charity or something) and go buy yourself a shiny new 1 or 2 Gig DDR2 kit. The kits come with matching pairs making for flawless Dual channel support, and DDR2 is DIRT cheap these days.

Hope that helps!
