3GB Ram wanted, 2 DIMM slots?
I'm currently running a system with 2GB of ram, and wanted to upgrade to 3 because I've begun to game quite a bit on my system. What would be a recommended setup? I have only 2 DIMM slots because of having a Micro-ATX board, so I know it would have to be 1x2gb, and 1x1gb sticks.. I'm looking for DDR2-800. I just don't feel like forking out a few hundred bucks to buy another board AND ram.
My setup: Core 2 Duo E6750 (2.66GHz) oc'd to 3.1GHz 2x1GB OCZ DDR2-800 1.9v, 4-4-4-12 (underclocked to run 1:1 cpu:ram ratio) EVGA 9800GT Ultra 500-watt PSU 2 SATA HDD's 1 SATA DVD+RW |

Re: 3GB Ram wanted, 2 DIMM slots?
With only the 2 slots, you want to go with 2x2, for dual channel, as long as your board supports 2GB sticks. Use the configurator from the ram manufacturer's websites to find ram guaranteed to work in your board. Look for a kit in the 2x2 size. Here's some links to configurators.
Crucial - http://www.crucial.com/ Corsair - http://www.corsair.com/configurator/default.aspx OCZ - http://conf.ocztechnology.com/index.php?c=1 Patriot - http://www.patriotmem.com/configurator/index.jsp Geil - http://www.geil.com.tw/home Kingston - http://www.kingston.com/ g.skill - http://newgskill.web-bi.net/bbs/G_SK...for_Memory.php And then Newegg has it's own memory configurator where you put in the make and model and it shows which ram they sell will work. It's on the left side of the screen there. http://www.newegg.com/Store/Category...17&name=Memory edit - your really should include your motherboard with your specs.
