no power

the computer will not turn on i have tried/ swiches / power supply/reinsataled motherboard all fails have lights on motherboard but that is it my motherbord is p4pe the only way it will work is bridge the green power lead with the black know it works only one thing the only way to turn off is by swich on power supply any ideas

I think we'll need some more information for this one, whats the full spec of your machine?

video card
cpu
m/board
ram
power supply
brand
wattage

and what exactly have you tried? (i.e. what do you mean by switches/power supply)

512ddr433 i hoe this helps
i have tried the power swich on the front of computer
checked all power suppiles voltage all ok

I'd suggest actually swapping the power supply with a known good one, if that doesn't work then we'll need to look at whether the motherboards the culprit.

Sorry for the slownees in replying, any of the below brands:

Seasonic - any model
Corsair - any model
Thermaltake - "Toughpower" series only
Coolermaster - "Real Power Pro" series only
PC Power & Cooling - any model
Silverstone - any model

Rated 500w or more would be ideal, hopefully this will resolve your issue and give you room to upgrade in future.
