 see the above image... Installed Memory : 4096M Usable Memory : 3071 Where did my 1GIG GO??  : I need it back  My Config : core2duo e7300 2.66Ghz Asus P5N-MX with nForce 610 chipset XFX nVIDIA 8600GT 512MB DDR2 2x2GB DDR2 I m USING Win XP SP2 32bit Please help me :( Last edited by LaZyBuM™; 01-24-2009 at 02:00 AM. |

If yours is XP OS, the max amount it is will support is 4gig but sometimes it will only use up to 3gig to 3.5 gig.

Any 32bit OS can address 2^32 = 4gb of memory. Thats including memory on hard drives, graphics cards, ram, etc... To 'use' more RAM, you need (as Dai says) a 64bit operating system.
