Installed Physical Memory Exceeds Total Physical Memory
Hello, all. I am unfortunately unable to find an answer for this:
I have Vista 32-bit, SP1 Gateway GT5656 Athlon 64X2 3.0GHz Elitegroup MCP61PM-AM GeForce 6150SE and 4GB RAM The system info recognizes 4GB "Installed Physical Memory." But it reads "Total Physical Memory" as only 2.87GB. Do I need to update something or what? Thanks in advance! |

Re: Installed Physical Memory Exceeds Total Physical Memory
32 bit windows will only recognize between 2.8 and 3.4 gig of ram to use more you need windows 64 bit but I doubt you need more ram than that

Re: Installed Physical Memory Exceeds Total Physical Memory
My laptop with the same OS and same amount of RAM recognizes 3.4GB in the detailed system information though. Is my mobo/BIOS holding it back, or is it something else?

Re: Installed Physical Memory Exceeds Total Physical Memory
IT is just the windows works the Pc may gave more dedicated video ram or any number of things different but it is just a matter of what it is reporting it can use the upper areas for system devices.
