Acer 5520 Athalon 64x2 ram 4 gig upgrade
I have 2, 2gig strips of identical ram installed now hoping to run 4 gig in dual channel mode and am unsure if my Athalon 64x2 processor supports it. There is nothing telling me in Vista to indicate that I am. Do I have to do any additional setup in bios or ??? Thanks

Run cpu-z and look at the memory tab, in the top right corner it will say if it's dual channel. http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

Re: Acer 5520 Athalon 64x2 ram 4 gig upgrade
Thanks, thats a cool little program and it tells me pretty well everything. I am surprised that Vista does not supply any insight or help files or anything that I could find on running dual channel ram. Thanks again. PS. It seems that my system does support it as CPU-Z indicates.
