Ram Memory Wont Install/does Not Work

Hi,

I want to update the RAM on my PC, from 1GB (2 x 512MB) to the maximum of my motherboard, 2GB.

My motherboard is a ASUS P5VD2-MX SE, & I know it will support up to 2GB.

I ordered Kingston "KVR533D2N4K2/2G" 2GB PC2 - 4200 CL4 240 - Pin DIMM Kit (2PCS).

I have today tried to install the RAM & it doesn't work, it just freezes at the first start up screen.

I have tried it in various combinations & used my exisitng RAM along side it but still nothing.

I have checked all relevant manufacturers websites & it is the correct RAM & it should work.

Any suggestions?

I would try just one at a time to see if one of them is bad. I have received bad ram a number of times. If both do not work I still would return it and purchase again. I bought my ram from best buy I took the laptop back to the store and it took 3 tries before they got a good stick. Of course I have bad luck.
