Ram Problem

Sadly, I'm a noob at this. I've read the stickys above, but unfortunately it couldn't help me much.

I've just bought a new stick of RAM for my PC to add to my 512MB I already had. I booted it, seemed fine, but it didn't show up in the system (I know there's a lot of that problem occuring and you probably get it alot)... I want to know the best thing to do since I don't have the manual for my PC anymore. I can't really run the BIOS without knowing what I'm looking for, perhaps if I just run the BIOS and save and exit without doing anything WHILST the Ram is in there, maybe it'll recognize it but from the sounds of it it's a bit more complex? I know I bought the right RAM to match the other that was already in there, different brand but still the same power.

If I'm asking questions you've heard a million times I'm sorry, just without a manual I don't have much to go on and I don't wanna mess around with things I don't know alot about.

Re: Ram Problem

Run a system scan at www.diahmemory.com and let us know the make and model of your motheboard/system and we can see what is going on here.
