Laptop RAM Capabilities

I have an Averatec Model 3150 which came installed with a 256 MB DDR.
I have no idea if my laptop will support 1GB of RAM. Can someone answer this for me?
I tried calling Averatec TS but no one answered. I just bought a 1GB from Best Buy and would like to install ASAP.

Hope this helps. Its max RAM is 640 RAM.

Looks like you can install 1 stick of 512meg PC2700 DDR 333 ram
