Ram and Vista help needed
hey, i have windows vista and have 2 GB of Ram. Since i like my computer games i am looking to upgrade my Ram to maybe 3 GBs. This is partly because i know the high Ram needed just to run Vista. I need to know whether i can just replace one of my two 1 GB Ram sticks with a 2 GB one? will that make it run faster or do i have to fork out the extra money for another 2 GB stick to make it a pair?
Also, either way, as long as the Ram stick is a DDR2 will it run on my computer. ps. dunno if it helps but my computer is running a processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T9300 2.50GHz |

Re: Ram and Vista help needed
It depends on the make and model of your laptop. There are possible restrictions on maximum total and maximum stick size, though with a T9300 for a cpu, I'd wager that you can take 2x2GB and get a total of 4GB. The speed depends, again, on what laptop. Post the manufacturer and model and we can run it through some configurators and get you some compatible ram model numbers. Always best to use guaranteed compatible ram.
