Can I upgrade this gateway to my 350W PSU?

Im wanting to save money and I have a dead Dell Dimension 8400 computer with a 350W PSU. As far as I know, I think this was after the time Dell quit making their PSUs proprietary. I want to know if I will be able to take that power supply out and replace the 160W in this gateway 500S model computer. Will I have any problems upgrading? Thanks.

Re: Can I upgrade this gateway to my 350W PSU?

The powersupply in the 8400 is indeed standard . . not the older Dell proprietary version. If it is the same physical size, it should work. The 8400 P/S will have some SATA power connectors and may not have enough PATA power connectors, but you can use splitters or adaptors to get around that
