Question [SOLVED] Blue screen followed by startup blue screen

Hi

Blue screen appeared during idle operation - no major programs running. Computer dumped memory then restarted. Since then it has failed to boot into windows - will not even boot into safe mode.

Bios no probs, runs post no probs. LED error read out on mobo shows no errors - reaches FF (meaning boot successful i believe).

Have removed extra peripherals, and swapped out others to test. Still failing to boot into OS. Tried booting off cd to re-install/repair but it blue screens after files are copied over from cd.

Vista 64 bit
EVGA 680i SLI mobo
4 Gb nvidia SLI ram
EVGA 9800 GTS 640 Mb
Samsung 120 Mb hdd
Seasonics 700 watt psu

Any advice appreciated..

Cheers

Re: Blue screen followed by startup blue screen

Computer wont power up the screen at all now. No error beeps, and all case fans and cpu etc start up, and I reckon I can hear the hard drive starting as well, but no screen activity at all.

So no I can't get the original error code sorry..

Re: Blue screen followed by startup blue screen

Try booting from your windows cd and going into the recovery console. Run chkdsk /r from there.
