Mistake Power starting then stopping upon startup

I was told my power supply was bad 500w. I purchased a new one. My old one ULTRA had one cord connecting to the motherboard. The new one has two connectors to the mother board which corresponds as shown on the motherboard schematic. I power the computer on and get the red indicator power on lights in the lower right hand corner along with a quick fan start, then no power with an audible beep. I then dc the top power connector (4 ) point and upon restart the fans start for about 20 seconds then they shut down and i get the same audible beep.

Question is my motherboard bad 4 year old computer, do i have a bad power connector or do i need to take in to tech and spend money to correct simple problem.. Thanks from Raleigh, nc.

What Motherboard, PSU, CPU Video Card do have?
