PSU just blinks

Hello, i recently built a pc and am having troubles. PC contains a BIOSTAR TA790GX motherboard, AMD Athlon 64 X2 2.6GHz 65W Dual-Core Processor, Rosewill RP500 500W ATX12V v1.3/ EPS12V Power Supply, 2 one gig sticks of ram, and a 250 gig Seagate HDD.

My problem is everything worked fine at my house, but when i took it over to my mother's; for whom i was building it for, the psu led would blink and fan would pulse but not turn, and not power on PC. So i read a few forums and unplugged it from mobo and plugged it back in and it powers on now. But now the monitor only blinks with green vertical lines or claims to have no signal.

Did my PSU fry my mobo?

Re: PSU just blinks

First of all to clear the air, a Rosewill power supply is a very weak unit and very poor quality. I tell you that so if we get it going, you will know what the future might bring.

We need to know before we go any further what video card you are trying to run with this Rosewill. That will help us to know what load you are expecting it to pull.

Re: PSU just blinks

Thank you for the reply. I will just be using the integrated on Mobo. No video card.

Re: PSU just blinks

That is a good plan to switch anyway. Just be sure you get a good brand name when you purchase. Let us know if we can help.
