Ram Timings off

Hi
While trouble shooting a freezing problem i have on my pc i decided to check up on my RAM timing due to a reported problem with certain rRAM timming and my GFX card.

OCZ DDR3 PC3-10666 Platinum Edition Is m ram i have 3x1gig

the website states the timings as 7-7-7-20
Yet my auto settings show on my Mobo as 9-9-9-24

i was wondering if i should lower them and why there set so high.

Any thoughts would be very helpfull
many thanks
