BSOD related to Memory error?
I get to the boot screen..when windows 2000 is loading...and the dreaded Blue Screen of death rears its ugly head.
The Error message says: (X's represent the numbers or letters that were shown) stop xxxxxxxxxxx (oxoooooo2 xxxxxxxx, xxxxxxxxx) Address at xxxxxxxxx base at xxxxxxx Datestamp xxxxxxxNTOSKRNL.exe beginning dump of physical memory Dump of memory complete Any ideas as to what this means? I can boot up in safe mode. I did attempt to replace the memory stick with one from another computer (It is somewhat old as well ) but the problem remained. Is it memory related. Would it be better to try this with a new memory stick? I'm all out of ideas, so any help for this desperate individual would be greatly welcomed. |

Re: BSOD related to Memory error?
That's a windows error message not a memory stick error use the actual numbers and letters in the message and check the Microsoft KB for the error.

Re: BSOD related to Memory error?
Ah, I see. Thanks. That helped big time, so that rules out the memory issue.
Here is the full message or just abouts: *** STOP: 0x00000000A (0x00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x8042D762) *** Address 804D762 base at 80400000, DateStamp 45ec3c8f - ntoskrnl.exe Beginning dump of physical memory. Physical memory dump complete. Contact your system administrator or technical support group. I'#ve been looking around on Microsoft website for similar error messages, and am i correct therefore in saying the problem is my ntoskrnl.exe file? How do i go about repairing this? Forgive me, I'm not very experienced at this sort of stuff, first time in my life i've ever had such a problem. |

Re: BSOD related to Memory error?
That is actually the windows kernel file loading can you get in to safe mode?
If not you may want to do a repair install which will leave the files intact and repair the windows installation. http://www.windows2000.windowsreinstall.com/Repair/ |
