RAM Speeds

I'm going to be getting a new motherboard. The RAM it utilizes is DDR2 1200, 240pin. Now, the RAM I currently have is DDR2 800 240pin. Will that work in the motherboard? I would think it would, but want to know because then I'll have to get new RAM as well.

It should work. Check the qvl. The max speed the new ram will run at
will be 800mhz fsb. But make sure its on the qualified venders list
"qvl" for your mobo...

What's the qualified vendor's list?

What happens if it's not on the list? Does that mean it's untested or that it won't work or that it can hurt?

Sometimes means its untested. Even if the ram is not on the list,
it may work. You just have a better shot if the ram is on the list.
