Re: Ram Help, pleasee

Ram works better if it is all from the same manufacture...Ram also needs to be the right kind...with the right specs...for your particular Main Board.

Kingston 512MB 333MHz DDR Non-ECC CL2.5 DIMM RAM (KVR333/512R)

is the kingston memory. im sure they are the right specs because it detected only one of the 256mb chips but not the other.

Re: Ram Help, pleasee

What happens if you just put those 2 in?
See if this looks like your board> http://www.foxconnchannel.com/produc...D=en-us0000034
If you have 4 ram slots you should be running ram in matched pairs so you get the much faster dual channel operation, operation in dual channel will provide better performance then adding more ram making it slower single channel.

If that looks like your board D/L the manual from here starting on page 19 of the pdf file covers Ram configurations. > http://www.foxconnchannel.com/suppor...D=en-us0000001

Re: Ram Help, pleasee

I would the 512 in dual channel will give you better results then 768 in single mode and look for a pair of 512's or another pair of 256's.
