Looking for opinion on PSU to get.
I am putting together a pc and have narrowed my PSU choice down to 3 choices. First off,
I am using athlon 64 x2 5000 processor xfx geforce 9800 GTX+ vid card 4 gb Ram 2 -500gb hard drives 2 - dvd burners At first I was going to buy this 650W psu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371010 I liked this as its modular and I bought a clear sided case Then I saw these 2 750W psu's for basically same price as 650 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817703009 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139006 I am leaning towards a 750w, probly the Corsair one, but I just cant decide. The 650w is most likely sufficient but I thought I read a larger PSU is better to have if you overclock your video card to keep the power flow stable to the card. Any opinions? I dont plan on running 2 vid cards at the moment but the 750w ones may be a smart choice as if I do decide to I wont need to buy another psu a year down the road Last edited by bobbyd3; 11-21-2008 at 05:53 AM. |

Re: Looking for opinion on PSU to get.
Antec power supply quality is very low at this point in time. DO not get the Antec supply that you have mentioned or you will regret it down the road.
Either of the other two are really super high quality supplies. I happen to like the Corsair better, but that is personal opinion. Either as I mentioned is great and a real good price at this time. I also think the 750 is a better choice to future proof you when you decide to move up to a more demanding video card.
