My System

Roll Eyes Inconsistant error

I have recently upgraded my system from 2 gb to 4 gb and everything was running well for a couple of months. Sometimes i get blue screens saying memory management etc and games crash etc. But, it's not all the time. Some days it'll run fine. I've checked every stick of ram with memtest and every memory bank. I've also given them some orthos for a few hours and its fine.
When i put all 4 sticks in, orthos will fail etc. But sometimes it doesn't.
I've checked and unchecked memory remap in bios and get the same. It's running at the rated speed and voltage 5-5-5-15 @ 2.2v
Any ideas??
Asus p5b deluxe with the latest bios
e6320 @ 3.2 ghz with zalman 9700 led
4 gb crucial ballistix pc2 8500
powercolor 4870x2
500 gb seagate barracuda 7200 rpm
thermaltake toughpower 750 psu

Ohh and memtest will find errors sometimes and sometimes it wont. This is only when the 4gb is installed.

Re: Inconsistant error

Hmm it seems that this batch of ram that i brought runs at 2.0v. That is why it doesn't play nice together. Nice one crucial! changing the specs.
Anyone know if i can still buy the 2.2v rated sticks? If so, i'll send the new ones back and get them.

Re: Inconsistant error

Have you tried backing the voltage down to 2.0 the rating is the max to run it not the recommended voltage

Re: Inconsistant error

Tried everything. They just didn't want to play well together.
Phoned ebuyer but because i've had it more than 10 days, they didn't want to know. Phoned crucial (who were very helpfull) and the bloke said to send him the older sticks and they will replace them with newer ones free of charge! Great customer service

Re: Inconsistant error

That will work, I've always had good luck with Crucial.
