Codegen, a good and reliable brand?

Hello guys, I'm currently planning my first attempt in upgrading my PC. Since this thread deals about RAM and PSU, I have a question about a specific PSU brand.

My current PSU is kinda crappy, 400W max and can't exceed over 375W (according to manufacturer's notes:- HIPRO). I am eyeing on a 600+ watts PSU for a better gaming experience and also to support a better display card say at least nVidia 9600 GT.

After going to a couple of PC shops, I found out about the brand Codegen for a cheaper price at a good watts rate (e.g. a shop quoted me a Codegen 623W PSU with a price tag of AUD$75). Too good to be true, but whats' the catch with this brand Codegen which I personally NEVER heard of? I live in Australia by the way. What are your thoughts? Please share.

Re: Codegen, a good and reliable brand?

you would have heard of them in the win 98 era,but rare in the current computers as they are classed as generic and curent day computers require quality psu's
go with 650w

Re: Codegen, a good and reliable brand?

Thanks for the reply, maybe I'll consider Corsair's offerings. But as for Codegen, just curious though, did anyone here experience problems with it or something the people here would like to share their views on this brand?
