[SOLVED] No Boot Kingston Hyperx KHX6400D2K2/4GR

Hi I am new and this is my first post.
I built a new pc two weeks ago with 4 GB RAM (Kingston Hyperx KHX6400D2K2/4GR 800MHz speed) and worked fine. BOIS was reading my RAM at 667 speeds. I changed the setting in BOIS from Auto (667) to Manual (800) speed and now my PC wouldn’t boot.
I need to access BOIS to change it back to auto. Any Ideas
Thank you

Remove the CMOS battery for 20minutes ( While the PC is off ) then put it back in and boot up

or remove the CMOS jumpers from 1&2 to 3&4 then back again, This will clear the BIOS back to standard.

Re: No Boot Kingston Hyperx KHX6400D2K2/4GR

I did both options last night and It did not work.

what happens if I put the 800 memory in ther the cpu and power supply fan spins, and stop, spins, and stop and on. If I put 533 mhz memory(from my old pc) in there both fans start, but no post, because I think it is looking for 667 memory (i do not have).

If I knew for sure 667 works, then I will go and buy couple sticks.
Can someone confirm this option?
thanks

Re: No Boot Kingston Hyperx KHX6400D2K2/4GR

When you were clearing the CMOS did you unplug the power, remove the battery and switch the jumper at the same time?
If switching to 533 ram didn't work I wouldn't think 667 will.
There is a possibility changing the ram timing fried a motherboard circuit if auto detect wouldn't run the ram at 800 it may have been because of a voltage issue

Re: No Boot Kingston Hyperx KHX6400D2K2/4GR

Thank you for your reply. I had done the following:

1- Bought a new 2gb 667 ram stick and it did not help.
2- called Intell and Kingston helpdesk open a case and did not help
3- Fry's outpost tech looked it and couldn't figured out and said we can troubleshoot, but will take over a week
4- I returned the Intel motherboard, and bought ASUS P5Q-EM & everything is working fine including my original 8 gb ram.

Thanks everyone for kindness
