Im stuck!
I have a Zalman 750 watt psu, ZM750-HP, bought 2 months ago 2008-08-10. and the guys i bought it from claims there is no problem with it, i even had to pay for the post and packade when i sent it to repair. Now to my problem, the psu works like its suposed to exept when i play high end graphic games like eve online, nhl 2008 and tiger woods 2008. otherwise is totaly fine, but as i play this games a sound starts to emitt from my psu and as a pan around in the game the sound changes frequency, and its extreamly annoying. I have sent in the psu to my retailer and got it back without them telling me that is no problem with it. what shall i do? ( yes they got this exakt info but i think they might have a testing rig and not accualy mounted to a graphic card.) btw: my machine is: intel core2 quad q9550 2.83 GHz, 4 gig corsair dominator, Asus p5q premium motherboard Zalman 750 watt cpu, ZM750-HP Geforce XFX GTX 280 1 GB |

Re: New PSU makes high pitched noise in games
well if it was the fan they would have found that it had a problem but even if i stop the fan the sound remains, so must be the transformater but how it makes the sound is a mystery to me.
My only solution is that is payday tomorrow as im getting really annoyed by the sound and i guess the only way out is a new psu. I have a cheap 750 w psu for sale here tomorrw :) |
