Ok guys, this is a long story so coop with me :)
About 2 months ago, i bought a new RAM for my computer. IT was a 1GB Bufallo DDR2 memory. It was the same thing as my old one(512mb) because i even asked the guy at the store. Ok, so i came home, put in the RAM but the PC did not boot at all, it gave me repeating beeps. I later found out that i had put the RAM in backwards forcing it in. So, i went and had it repaired and the guy told me that the RAM had fried. In my head, i thought it was because i had put it in backwards. So i lived like that for two months with the new RAM the repair man set up for me, until i decided to try myself again but with a 2GB RAM card. the exact same thing as the other one. So this time i made it sure i put it in the right way and i did, eveything ws in the right way. when i turned on the PC, it gave me the same problem as it had before...short non-stop repeating beep. so this time i new it wasnt the RAM that had fried since i put it in the right way. So i tried booting 3-4 times but i had the same prob. so, hopeless and frustrated, i put the old one back in and this one didnt work either!!!!!! Some might say that it is my Mobo, but, if i had the same prob 2 months ago, and it was the RAM, why would it be the mobo. and im sure its not the RAM this time cause i did everything right(i read that set-up manual that came with the RAM card.) i got a eMachines H5042 So please help me guess, im desperate. thx in advance! |

Re: BOOT PROBLEM(Please Help!)
for a start when you upgrade ram you do it in matching pairs
2x1g will run faster than a 2g stick check you are seating the ram ok,the clips clicking over hold it in place it does not mean it is seated when they do click over 2g total is plenty for xp
