Cry Help Me Improve RAM, etc?

Just a friendly warning, I'm a complete newbie the mechanics of computers.

I'm currently using my laptop, an hp pavilion ze4500 and I'd really like to improve the performance of it. I know it has potential and I'll let you guys know what I'd like to do, so if you can help in any way, please do so.

First of all, the specs are: PC mobile AMD Athlon(tm) XP2500+ 1.86 GHz, 448 MB of RAM.

Now what I'd like to do is improve the RAM, I'm just not sure how far I can go, or where I can buy the part for it. I want my computer to be really fast, so if I'm correct, I need to improve the CPU, yes? I'm not entirely sure what I have to do to make this more of a gaming laptop. I guess I have to improve the video card but again, I'm not very educated in this department. I also want to make it so it's able to stay on for over 24 hours and more.

I know this is a lot and I don't even know if I'm posting in the right forum, again, I'm a newb. So if anybody can help, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Re: Help Me Improve RAM, etc?

With all due respect to you and your comp. It will never be a gaming comp because the maximum ram it can use is 1 gb, (2x512). To update the Cpu is not an economical proposition. I would suggest that if you really want a laptop for gaming you look at an Intel based comp.

Re: Help Me Improve RAM, etc?

It's fine that it won't be gaming computer. I just would like to max this laptop up as much as possible, and thanks for the information about how high I can get my laptop's RAM up to, that's what I need to know and so on.
