Don't know where to put this. When I push the power button the fans start and lights go on, but there is no bios beep, I don't know whether it would be the motherboard, power supply or the hard drive. Sometimes the initial screen shows up but then the computer switches off, then seconds later restarts.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Re: Won't start
take the side off the case and look at the psu label for the brand
did it post and reboot ok after the bios reset,if so it should start again we need the information of the temps and voltages check for a bios update for the m/board the reboot was fixed in a bios update if you have the original bios this could be the cause of the reboot

Finally found the sticker with the brand on it, the sticker was against the other wall of the case, it's called CODOGEN
![]() The thermal paste I had put on about 2 hours before I originally posted this thread, but I've redone it, and now that I've turned it off, it won't start again. |

Ok, so several hundred dollars later I've bought a new power supply, and my computer STILL won't start.
It's NOT the power supply. If I clear the CMOS (props to dai for telling me how to) then the computer will load fine, but it won't start if I've just turned it off, I have to clear the CMOS again before I can turn it on. Also, when it does come up again after clearing the CMOS it has 2 options; 1) Press F1 for set up 2) Press F2 to load defaults and continue. If I press F2 the computer will continue to load fine, but when it's turned off it won't start again. If I press F1 and set the time and date and check over the settings, when I press F10 to save, once the computer restarts it won't show anything on the screen or POST or beep at all. Please please please help me.

Still no dice, and I've honestly had enough of spending money on things that you tell me are the cause of the problem, only to have them not be, up to $135 now and still no working computer. Think I should have just taken it to a professional.

Re: Won't start
set it up out of the case where you can get a good look at everything
on a piece of cardboard with cpu video ram speaker and see if you get post check you have the correct amount of standoffs no more no less that they line up with the holes in the m/board usually 9
