Re: Sporadic restarts

Hi, welcome to TSF

Check your PSU voltages and system temperatures in BIOS, then start Windows and check them again with SpeedFan.

Open the case and make sure all the fans are spinning and free of dust. How many case fans are there and how are they positioned?

Re: Sporadic restarts

I only have 1 88mm fan in the rear & 1 on the CPU:

& forgive me for being a n00b, but i couldn't figure out how to check temps or voltage through BIOS (Is it through F2 or F8 when starting up?).

I did howver, dload the SpeedFan app and here were my results:

CPU Usage < 4%

Fan1: 1680 RPM
Fan2: 0
Fan3: 851 RPM

Temp1: 82C
Temp2: 25C
Temp3: -69C
Core0: 39C
Core1: 34C
Core2: 39C
Core3: 42C

Speed01: 100%
Speed02: 100%
Speed03: 100%

Vcore1: 1.12V
Vcore2: 3.12V
+3.3V: 3.34V
+5V: 5.21V
+12V: 12.03V
-12V: -16.72V
-5V: -8.53V
+5V: 5.03V
Vbat: 3.14V

Are the reading i put in bold problems with the PSU?

thanks in advance.

Re: Sporadic restarts

It will tell you which key to press to enter BIOS when you switch on, usually at the top or bottom of the screen. It's different depending on the motherboard, but is usually F1, F2 or Del.

Your voltages look ok. Don't worry about the -12V and -5V, they're not important.

Temp1 is 82C with your case fans running at 100% and the CPU almost idle. I'm not sure what Temp1 represents in SpeedFan, so see what the temperaures are in BIOS.

If you only have a rear case fan, you could do with one at the front pulling in cool air. This is to create an airflow path from front to rear that cools down the motherboard and components.

Make sure the fans are positioned correctly so the front one is pulling in cool air and the rear one is blowing out warm air.
