DDR2 RAM speeds?
Hi,
It used to be the case the maximum RAM speed one could expect without using a splitter or overclocking was always double the FSB (m/board) hence the term double data rate (at least with intel setups). How come speeds can get up so high now - Is the full capability even used? My soon to be new processor has a FSB of 1333MHz - that would be a maximum of 667MHz RAM speed, i.e. PC2 5400, but all new systems I've been looking at have RAM of PC6400 (800MHz) and upwards.  .What's going on? Phil
