Laugh RAM question and help!

Ok like 10 mins ago, i just bought 4 new sticks of RAM all 1GB, all from same company ects, the RAM is are all DDR2 PC2-5300, CL=5, DDR2 667.

So all adds upto 4GB (My Mobo's Maximium RAM)

But i really want know if this will make any difference to my Performance, e.g games, Photshop etc??

Currently my PC set up is

Athlon 3500+ 2.2GH'z
1GB RAM (2x 512mb DDR2 PC2-5200)
Ge Force 8600GT 1GB
PSU - Corsair 620W
Mobo is A8M2N-LA (On Board GeForce 6150LE)

So any idea's if this will make much of a difference.... or have a just wasted money lol!?
