PSU upgrade nightmare

Alright, so I've got a new PSU to replace a coolmaster. I got everything plugged in fine, I think; and the computer won't start. When I plug in the PSU a bright flash comes from the back of the computer but that's it. What went wong?

Re: PSU upgrade nightmare

Sorry for the double post... I couldn't figure out how to edit. Anyway, I put my old PSU back and all booted up normally. Do you think the new one was just DOA?

Re: PSU upgrade nightmare

Does the flash happen everytime you plug it in or just the first time and then nothing?
Did it smell right after?
IF you plugged it in saw a flash from the PSU area I'd say it shorted itself out.

What brand and model PSU is it?

Re: PSU upgrade nightmare

It's done it at least twice. Was it something I did wrong? I guess I'm just going to see if newegg will return it.

Re: PSU upgrade nightmare

Does it do now without being in the PC?
What model is it?

Re: PSU upgrade nightmare

It is a OCZ Game X Stream 600 W PSU. When I plug it in outside of the computer, nothing at all happens.

Re: PSU upgrade nightmare

What are you installing it in ?
Obliviously you know where all the connectors go since you reinstalled the old one without issue, but did you have any difficulties at all if not I would return it.
There not my first choice for supplies but they are a decent unit.
