Changed Psu & Disk & Hardrive Dont Work

I have a problem, i changed the power supply unit (computer completely would not turn on) and changed the cmos battery. when i turn on in the back, lights in front blinks green and yellow lights blinks fast. So i know now it has power. it does not seem to be reading the hard drive, the cd also does not work, i have connected and reconnected over and over again. does not smell burned and fan is working inside. I have an emachine T2385. i did notice that the original power supply box did not have that turn on switch and the new one does. but tiger direct said i could use it.
HELP ME, MY WORK FILES ARE ON THIS COMPUTER!

You can't change PSUs on older computers made by all companies. The wiring in their PSUs are proprietary, that means that it is wired so you can't upgrade to your own.

How old is this computer? Many of the emachines use a standard ATX power supply.

Re: Changed Psu & Disk & Hardrive Dont Work

Hi, check that you have all necessary power connectors plugged in. This includes the 24-pin (or 20-pin for an older motherboard) for system power and the 4-pin for the processor. Does it run with the previous power supply?
