Will my 533 ram work?

This is my mobo that i just bought, im wondering if my DDR 2 533 sticks will work on it....

The manual and the site says it only supports 800/667 so im wondering if theres special consideration, ive been trying to build my own system and when i try to boot up i dont get any video signal at all, no bios nothing...

Im trying to determine if its my ram or my c2d e8400 wolfdale 3ghz

DDR2- 533 memory is not going to work in that board

you need DDR2-667 or DDR2-800

Re: Will my 533 ram work?

How are you going to overclock something the board won't accept?

And, it would be a waste to run that CPU with 533 RAM.
Get a nice pair of DDR2 800 sticks - they don't cost very much.

@ OP: Did you plug in 4-pin CPU power? Is the RAM in DIMM1? Are you using 24-pin PSU power?

Re: Will my 533 ram work?

thats very nice Peter BUT

his board board shows support for 533 ram :)

http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1...39&modelmenu=1

maybe the E8400 will run with some boards on 533 ram ??????? I have tried on several occasions with GA-Ep35-DS3L & achieved zero luck
