Tried to add RAM, now comp wont turn on.
So I tried adding some ram onto my emachines t5010. It looked easy enough but me being a complete computer noob, I messed up. It took me a bit of pushing and shoving of the internal cords to click the sticks in place. Now when I connect the power cord to the tower and press the on button the blue ring glows. but the fans/motor that usually makes a loud humm on start up is silent now and only spins for half a seconds. I think the problem is that i accidentally removed one of the internal cords. right now the pins labeled P9, P10, P7, p4 and P5 are not connected to anything. Are they supposed to be and where? as I don't want to interfere recklessly and cause more problems. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THOSE WHO REPLY, and is more info needed on the situation?

Re: Tried to add RAM, now comp wont turn on.
sounds liek it simply may not support the RAM, or maybe you bumped the 4 pin CPU connector?
