Problem with RAM upgrade and resulting in computer problem
Hi there recently iv been trying loads of Ram componants and none of them seem to work. I used a website recomendded by a friend, that scans your computer and tells you exactly what RAM you need in detail. On doing the scan i found the ram that i needed. Im only looking for 1GB as XP doesnt need more than 2GB. However when i recived the ram i installed it and left the origional 512mb RAM in. WHen running the comp it runs for 5mins max then shuts itself off. So i took the origional 512mb out leaving the 1GB on its own. However the same problem occurs, so i took the 1GB out and left the origional 512MB in, be to be supprised the same problem occurs!!!
I would like to still have a 1GB upgrade but if it is causing this problem i see no need. I only wanted to upgrade so that i could play one or two high spec games. But also what is causing the computer to crash itself and restarting itself... Help!! Many Thanks Danny |

Re: Problem with RAM upgrade and resulting in computer problem
Morgiee: Crystal balls and all that. You need to tell the guys on here your computer stats. i.e. Motherboard/ram/video card etc.
I would guess you might be getting Voltage probs, i.e. the two sticks have different voltages. |
