ddr2 ram installed now not loading xp

Ok i got a new motherboard about 6 months ago that has 4 ram slots 2 ddr and 2 ddr2.

So i used the old ddr ram that i had in my old computer for the time being but now when i try to upgrade and take out the 2 512mb ddrs and put in the new 2 1gb ddr2 it shows up as being 2gbs in the bios but xp will not load up. any help would be appreciated

I have 4 coredual-sata2
Intel Pentium D
and i am using dual channel memory

Have you tried booting with just one stick of ddr2? Just a comment, not a moan. The info supplied gives very little to work with. Are there any beeps, are you getting anything on the screen etc?
