Unknown Problem

Hi everyone, ive been looking over this forum trying to find something that might help resolve an issue ive been trying to figure out for a couple of weeks, and while i found a similar post it doesnt appear to resolve the issue the poster was having or the one im trying to resolve.

about a month and a half ago i built 2 new computers based around the same components

Mobo MSI P35 Neo-F
Cpu Pentium D E2200
2Gb OCZ DDR2 800
MSI NX8600GT- T2D256EZ/D3
SATAII 320GB HDD
and for one machine new case and power supply
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/141707 This has 2 12V ails at 16A each.

for the other i used and existing case and a new 650w power supply with 2 12v rails rail 1 23A rail 2 20A

both machines were build and tested for a week before the one with the new case was transfered to a friends. he has used it happily for a month but now is getting random crashes. sometimes its within a few minutes of getting into windows, other times he can happily play games for hours before it crashes. when it crashes he has to leave it for normally at least 30 minutes before it will power back up. but occasionally it will power up again immediately. also most recently he has reported that it can be off all day while he is at work but wont start up the first time he tries to power it up after he has got home.

I have had it back at mine to test on numerous occasions, and the last time i ran a graphics stress test ,and the mult core version of Prime95 at the same time, along with ad-aware and spybot at the same time. without getting a crash. i left the cpuu and graphics stress tests running for almost 24 hours, still no crash or reset not a flicker.

from what i remember the gpu reached 72c (remember its a fanless model)
the cpu stayed at about 54c and the system was similar.

He then reported having a crash as his washing machine went into spin cycle, so thinking we were looking at some form of power issue we went out and bought a 950V UPS with Automatic Voltage Regulation, but the problems still continue.

We are waiting on a new power supply coming
an OCZ 600W with 4 rails at 18A each to see if that resolves the issue.

However i have a feeling that it wont. therefore im asking if anyone can think of anything else to try or anything else that can be checked as with all the tests and stress tests that ive run my gut instinct is that its something at his causing power problems not the unit itself.

Any help or replies would be most appreciated.

Re: Unknown Problem

This has 2 12V ails at 16A each.
does not have enough amps for pcie
we always recommend buying case and psu's as seperate items
