my friend's neighbor wants me to upgrade the ram in his computer. he has an hp with 1 gigabyte of memory and he wants to upgrade to 2. However, i do not know if he uses ddr ram or ddr2 ram. i also do not know if he uses 2 512 mb dimms or if he has 2 or 4 memory banks. does anyone know of any website i can go to that has an archive of computers made by various manufacturers that will allow me to key in his model number and see what it contains.

Then while you're at the computer in question, you can access: www.crucial.com and put in the make and model and they can tell you what it will take and the cost. You can buy the new ram right there if you like. All their ram is first quality and fully guaranteed. NOT like some you might buy at a local retail store. Good Luck, The Shadow ![]()

yea, use crucial. ou can use the scanner tool or the manual input, either way it's guaranteed to work.
