I've searched the net all day for a solution to this problem, but no one seems to have the same thing happening.
My emachine T2893's power button does nothing. Won't turn the computer off, and won't turn the computer on. I even tried jumping the pins with no luck. The LED's in front work, too. As of yet, the only way I can start up my computer is if I 1) Unplug power supply, 2) Take out the BIOS battery, 3) Put the battery back in, and 4) Plug in the power supply. The computer then starts up immediately, WITHOUT pushing the power button. Everything works fine otherwise. The mobo LED is lit, but the button, even the pins, do nothing. I'm not going to open up the case and pop out the battery every time I want to start up the computer. Then I have to reset the time and all too. Suggestions? |
